Steve is president and CEO of New Bedford Corporation and his entire 40+ year career has been in the healthcare field. Initially working with various insurers and HMO’s, he has spent the past 20 years working for physicians and medical practices both as an administrator and as owner of New Bedford Corporation. His unique experiences allow him to help clients in all aspects of overall practice management as well as the effective collection of their receivables.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Barbi is the Vice President of Operations at New Bedford Corporation. She has over 10 years experience in both the practice management and medical billing aspects of medical practices. She started at New Bedford Corporation in the administrative department handling the accounts payable, credentialing, schedules, payroll and personnel issues for both New Bedford Corporation and the medical practices for which it provides practice management. Barbi routinely meets with our physician clients and their administrative staff and has proven to be an invaluable member of the management team.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jonathan joined New Bedford Corporation over 7 years ago as a member of the billing staff. Since then, Jonathan has worked in nearly every aspect of the company including research and selection of a new practice management system, and upgrading our IT infrastructure. Jonathan is Vice President of Business Development and works with new clients to tailor our services to their specific needs. Jonathan’s background includes working with the Henrico County public school system maintaining their IT and network infrastructure. This experience allows Jonathan to also provide superb IT support for both New Bedford Corporation and our client practices.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jason Ferrell

Jason started as a member of the billing team and was quickly promoted to billing manager after managing the smooth transition to a new billing system. He was integral in training on the new system and passing that knowledge to key staff members. In addition, Jason has implemented many improvements that have brought substantial efficiencies both internally and for our clients. Jason’s past experience includes managing large groups of people in a fast paced foreign currency exchange setting.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Kathryn Baird

Katie has been with New Bedford Corporation for 7 years as a radiation oncology coder. She received her coding training from the Cancer Care Network and Dr. Carl Bogardus, who provide information regarding radiation therapy billing and coding. Katie works on site in physicians’ offices educating the physicians and their staff regarding coding issues, verifying that all necessary documentation is in the chart and complete, and coding the physicians’ radiation oncology charges. Katie is a member of SATRO and receives routine training to stay up to date on the latest radiation oncology coding issues.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Nadja Humphrey

Nadja has extensive experience in both the physician office and insurance settings. She worked for 7 years as the office manager in an OB/Gyn practice before joining New Bedford Corporation. Prior to that she had been a provider relations representative, a provider network assistant and a claims operation supervisor for Southern Health Services, Inc. Her experience has made her invaluable in resolving outstanding claims.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Kim has 20 years medical billing and medical secretary experience. She has been a patient account representative in Pychiatric and OB/Gyn practices and joined New Bedford Corporation several years ago as a radiation oncology coder. Kim works on site in physicians’ offices educating the physicians and their staff regarding coding issues, verifying that all necessary documentation is in the chart and complete, and coding the physicians’ radiation oncology charges. She has attended the SATRO radiation oncology seminars and updates her radiation oncology coding training at least yearly.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sue has 11 years of experience in front desk and billing for family and dermatology practices. Her understanding of the whole billing process for a medical practice has been an asset to our clients. She has worked on various systems including Benchmark, VHS, Medic, Medical Manager and Intergy enabling her to help in transitioning our new client’s accounts to our system. She is accustomed to working in a fast paced environment and provides excellent customer service to our clients and their patients.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Patricia has experience in bad debt and accounts receivable collections with commercial companies before joining New Bedford Corporation’s team. Her first position with New Bedford Corporation was in our collections department and she has since transferred to our medical billing department. Her prior experience provides her with the ability to research and obtain information that improves collections on patient accounts. In addition, her reliability and attention to detail keeps our work flow running smoothly.
